Educational Video

When we think about the use of technology in classroom, we always think of using PowerPoint presentation. To me, PowerPoint is a very useful tool that we can use to integrate technology in our lesson; but sometimes, we need to go beyond our pupils expectation. And 'going beyond expectation', to me, is referring to using video presentation in our lessons.

Why educational video presentation?

• Most of use have video recording tool (or what we refer to as hardware). Hardwares, like our camera handphone or digital camera, have the ability to record video. And of course, these kind of hardwares are quite cheap nowadays. You can get a cool digital camera at only RM300.
  
• Every PC with Microsoft Windows operating system comes with pre-installed Windows Movie Maker. This is referred to as software. This software is used to edit what we have recorded from our hardware to make the video arranged in a proper manner. It is also a useful tool to include titles, subtitles, music, transitions and effects to our video production.
• When you pupils ask you, "Teacher, why do you ALWAYS use PowerPoint presentations?" You might want to try producing a video.

So, before you start making a normal PowerPoint presentation for our pupils, you might want to consider all the points that I have given. Try out something new.
